SHREVEPORT-Centenary head women's basketball coach Bojan Jankovic announced recently that Francesca Lawrence and Katarina Vidovic have formally accepted the institution's offer of admission and will be joining the Ladies squad in the 2010-11 season.

Francesca Lawrence
Forward/Center, 6'1"
Metairie, La. (Mount Carmel Academy)

Lawrence hails from Metairie, La. and is the daughter of David and Theresa Lawrence. She attended Mount Carmel Academy where she was a four-year letterwinner for the Cubs basketball team.

A 6'1" forward/center, Lawrence played four years of high school under Amanda Bordelon and Stephanie Helgeson. She helped her team to the State playoffs all four years and to the Final Four in State during her freshman season.

Averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds a game, Lawrence was honored as an Academic All-State Honorable Mention recipient.

Off the court, Lawrence was a member of the Honor Roll as she carried a 3.5 GPA through high school. She also represented several club teams over the summer as she spent one year with the Slidell Magic and four years with the New Orleans Dominos. With the Dominos, Lawrence was part of a talented team that won the State Championship all four years and finished as high as ninth in the country at the National tournament.

"Francesca is a 6'1 post player that will add some size to our roster. She is very good around the basket and a strong post defender. She is a great student and will be able to help us right away on the court," said Jankovic.

Katarina Vidovic
Guard, 5'10"
Austin, Texas (Lake Travis High)

Vidovic, an Austin, Texas native from Lake Travis High School is the daughter of Sonny and Kelly Vidovic and will join the Ladies as well next season. She is a 5'10" guard and a four-year letterwinner for the Cavalier basketball team under the direction of head coach Ted Dydalewicz.

A captain, Vidovic helped her team to an impressive 20-10 record and was named to the Academic All-District team while at Lake Travis High.

Away from basketball, Vidovic was a member of the Student Council and was a Lake Travis Scholar holding a GPA of 3.98.

She played club basketball for Mass Productions for four years under head coach Herb Jones.

"Katarina is a great student-athlete and is successful both on the court and in the classroom. She was a team leader at her high school. Katarina is a 5'10 shooting guard that will help us both on defensive and offensive end. Her ability to score will make our transition game better and her size will be hard to beat on defensive end," said Jankovic.

"We are very happy to have both girls and we expect great things from them this year and in the future. "
