SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and softball coach Mark Lambert are proud to announce that Chandelle Scott has formally accepted the institution's offer of admission and will be joining the Ladies softball program next season.

Scott is a local product from Shreveport and Calvary Baptist Academy and is the daughter of Blaine and Tracy Scott. She was a letterwinner in softball, track and basketball for the Cavaliers. Playing under Tiffany Frazier in softball, Scott led her team to the state playoffs all four years and to a District championship in 2007 as a middle infielder.

For her strong play on the softball diamond, Scott was named second team All-District during the 2008 and 2010 seasons and finished her high school career with a .377 average her senior season, while leading her school with three home runs.

On the basketball court, Scott was the leading scorer and rebounder on the team. She earned second team All-District honors in 2008, while being named to the All-City team and first team All-District team her senior season.

Scott was voted "Most Athletic" her senior year, was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Honor and Merit Roll.

She played club softball under Frazier for the Louisiana Hurricanes for two seasons.

"Chandelle is a hardworking athlete who has a great understanding of the game. She will be a valuable asset and an immediate impact to our softball program," said Lambert.

Scott is the second addition to the Ladies program, joining right-handed pitcher Lynsi Unruh of Houston.
