Ladies in 12th After Opening Round

WICHITA FALLS, Texas-The Centenary women's golf team wrapped up round one of the Midwestern State Invitational at The Champions Course at Weeks Park with a team-score of 332, good enough for 12th overall.

The Ladies were led by sophomore Rachel Grinnell, who fired a team-low 81. Grinnell sits in a tie for 33rd heading into Tuesday.

Behind the Grinnell for Centenary was freshman Sarah Bradshaw with an 83, putting her in a tie for 50th. Sophomores Kyndal Rose and Justine Kemp each fired an 84 and are tied for 52nd, while freshman Kylee Goldthorn's 90 and 76th-place tie rounds out the daily results for Centenary.

The Ladies are currently 22 shots out of the lead, held by host-Midwestern State and Northeastern State University, who each combined for a 310 team score. Central Oklahoma sits in third and one shot back with a 311.

Individually, MSU's Kendra Whittley and Angelo State's Krista Czarnecki each shot a round-one low 73 to sit in a tie for first.

The tournament field is made up of 16 schools.

Centenary will return to action on Tuesday with the second round commencing at 8:30 am.
