Ladies Golf Finishes 13th

WICHITA FALLS, Texas-The Centenary women's golf team added eight strokes to their opening round score to fall to 13th at the Midwestern State Invitational on Tuesday at The Champions Course at Weeks Park.

The Ladies fired a team 340 in the second round and wrapped up the two-day event with a combined score of 672. Centenary finished 65 strokes behind tournament-winner Northeastern State (310-307, 617).

Leading the way after 36 holes is sophomore Kyndal Rose (84-80), who trimmed four shots off her Day 1 score to tie for 39th overall. Sophomore Justine Kemp (84-84) stayed consistent with two rounds of 84 to total 168 and finish in a tie for 55th.

Classmate Rachel Grinnell (81-88) led the team with a low score of 81 in the opening round, but fired an 88 on Tuesday to score a 169, one shot back from Kemp, to finish tied for 57th.

Rounding out the Ladies scores were freshmen Sarah Bradshaw (83-88, 171) in 64th place and Kylee Goldthorn (94-94, 188) in 80th.

Behind Northeastern State in team standings was St. Edwards (310-306, 618) in second and Central Oklahoma (311-310, 621) in third.

Midwestern State's Kendra Whittley (73-74) captured individual honors with a two-round score of 147.

Centenary will return to action when it hosts its Hal Sutton Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at the Golf Club at Stonebridge. Shot gun start at 8:30 pm.
