Gymnastics to Host National Training Sessions this Week
Tuesday, March 29, 2011
SHREVEPORT-In preparation for the 2011 USAG Collegiate Nationals, the Centenary gymnastics team will host two training sessions this week in the Gold Dome. The first session is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 pm, followed by a 6:30 pm session on Thursday evening. Both sessions are free of charge and open to the public.

The Ladies will compete in the USAG Collegiate Nationals in Colorado Springs, Colo. on April 8-10. The sessions will feature a mock-like Nationals on championship equipment.

"It is an advantage to be able to perform in an arena, on competition equipment, in front of an audience to really prepare for the National competition.  Practice is an integral part of the success of any team and this training session will give our campus and community an opportunity to see what it is like to train for an event of this magnitude and what the preparation looks like for the student-athletes," said head coach Gretchen Goerlitz.

Individually, sophomore Jessica Lieblich will take part in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Central Regional this weekend as an All-Around competitor.

"We would love to have our fans and supporters come to an informal training session on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings to get an inside look at training for Nationals at your last local opportunity to watch the 2011 Centenary Ladies gymnastics team in action."
