PREVIEW: Gents Tennis Wraps Up Season at Summit League Cluster

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's tennis team will wrap up the 2011 season in its final Summit League cluster when it travels to Fort Wayne, Ind. and Indianapolis, Ind. for four matches this weekend.

The Gents are 3-5 on the season and 0-2 against Summit League foes this season. Centenary is oming off a 7-2 victory over future ASC opponent, LeTourneau last Saturday.

Michael Reeks and Sam Grace are both 4-1 on the year and currently pace the Summit League as singles leaders with that record. The duo is also a combined 4-2 on the year in doubles play for third-best in the league heading into the final weekend.

No. 1 player, Jonathan Threadgill recorded his first win of the season in a 7-5, 6-3 victory against LeTourneau.

Competing this weekend for the Gents will be Jonathan Threadgill, Micah Threadgill, Garrett Whipple, Sam Grace, Michael Reeks and Evan Magill.

Centenary will open the weekend cluster with Oral Roberts on Friday at 10 am, followed by IPFW at 2 pm.

Play will continue on Saturday with a single match against UMKC at 10 am. All three matches will be held in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The final match against IUPUI on Sunday at 9 am will be held in Indianapolis, Ind.
