Magill Notches Singles Win in Final Gents Match

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-The Centenary men's tennis team wrapped up its 2011 season at IUPUI as Evan Magill notched a singles win despite the Gents falling 6-1 to the Jaguars in league play.

The Gents finished the season with a 3-9 record and an 0-6 mark against Summit League opponents.

Against IUPUI, Magill defeated his Jaguar opponent, 6-3, 6-4 as the Gents' No. 6 player. Despite falling in his singles competition, Garrett Whipple took his opponent to three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 7-10 as well as Micah Threadgill, 1-6, 6-3, 2-6.

Jonathan Threadgill (6-0, 6-0), Sam Grace (6-3, 6-2), and Michael Reeks (6-1, 6-2) each fell in their respective singles matches.

In doubles play, the Threadgills were defeated 8-5, while Grace/Magill fell 8-2 and Reeks/Whipple fell 8-1.
