Baseball Announces Summer Camp Dates

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary baseball program has announced its 2011 Summer Camp dates. The Gents will host five different camps, including hitting, advanced hitting, and three week-long youth camps at Shehee Stadium.

Hitting Camp
May 31 - June 2
Ages: 5-12
9 - 11 am
$60

Centenary coaches and players will introduce swing fundamentals. The staff will instruct young hitters on how to properly swing the bat through a variety of drills. Each camper will have 1-on-1 time with Cente¬nary coaches to help them properly learn how to hit.

Advanced Hitting Camp
May 31 - June 2
Ages: 13-18
1 - 3 pm
$60

Centenary coaches and players will teach advanced hitting fundamentals. The staff will teach the campers proper swing mechanics through drill progressions and deliver the proper mental approach to hitting. This camp is designed to maximize the campers success at the plate. Each camper will receive individual video analysis and breakdown with Centenary coaches. Written evaluations and feedback will also be given.

Youth Camps

Week 1: June 6 - 9
Ages: 5-12

The all-day camps consist of drills and daily games with Centenary coaches and players. Campers will be instruct¬ed in hitting, pitching, and defense. These camps are designed to enhance the individual player's talent level. Lunch will be provided daily.

The 2011 Centenary Baseball Summer Camps are de¬signed to help develop the skill sets of aspiring young baseball players. The first two camps are set up to focus on hitting, while the three all-day camps are designed to focus on all facets of the game of baseball, including hit-ting, defense and pitching.

All five camps are under the direction of the Centenary Gents coaching staff and players.
