Ladies Golf Notches Ninth Place Finish at League Championships

PRIMM, Nevada-The Centenary women's golf team maintained its ninth place standing to wrap up the 2011 season at The Summit League Championships with a three-round total of 1054 at Primm Valley Golf Club.

The Ladies fired a final round of 342, the lowest round of the tournament for Centenary, trimming 14 shots off its second round score to finish 23 strokes  better than IPFW in 10th place.

Sophomore Kyndal Rose (84-83-82) totaled 249 to finish in a tie for 29th to lead the Ladies. Classmate Justine Kemp (90-90-81) fired the lowest round of the day for Centenary with a final round of 81, moving her into a tie for 40th with a 54-hole total of 261.

Sophomore Rachel Grinnell (88-86-95, 269) placed 44th, while freshmen Sarah Bradshaw (95-98-87, 280) placed 49th and Kylee Goldthorn (92-101-93, 286) placed 50th.

Oral Roberts (313-307-291) captured the Summit League team title with a total of 911, 59 shots over par. Western Illinois (315-320-303, 938) finished second, while Oakland (317-313-309, 939) rounded out the top three.

Individually, NDSU's Amy Anderson (72-77-70, 219) earned first place.

Rounding out the remainder of The Summit League schools were NDSU, UMKC and SDSU in fourth through sixth, while IUPUI and Southern Utah finished seventh and eighth, followed by Centenary and IPFW.
