SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's soccer team and head coach Glenn Evans have released the 2011 soccer schedule as the Ladies gear up for new DIII American Southwest Conference.

Centenary is slated to play 19 games, 14 of which are members of the ASC. The Ladies will host 11 home games this upcoming season as 10 are scheduled to be double-headers with the Gents soccer team.

"We are looking forward to the new challenge. There will be some new rivalries created within the conference and our players will be able to experience that excitement in the first year," said Evans.

The Ladies will open the season with NAIA Texas College on Sept. 1 at 5 pm on Mayo Field. They will play five non-conference games, which include Millsaps, UL-Monroe, Northeast State, and intra-city rival, LSUS before opening ASC play on Sept. 16 at home against Schreiner University at 1 pm.

"The upcoming schedule will be a bit challenging for us as we have never competed against 12 schools on the schedule, including NCAA DIII champion, Hardin Simmons," said Evans.

The American Southwest Conference is one of the largest intercollegiate athletic conferences in NCAA Division III. The conference is made up of 16 institutions that spread across Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
