SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and volleyball head coach Jon Stenman are pleased to announce that Brooke Bahlinger has accepted the institution's offer of admission and will join the Ladies volleyball team during the 2011 season.

"I am very excited to have Brooke join our program.  She is a very hardworking, smart player and I would not be surprised if she was able to contribute on the court her freshman season," said Stenman.

Bahlinger is a native of Prairieville, Louisiana and will graduate from Dutchtown High School.

A 5'7" outside hitter, Bahlinger was a three-year letterwinner in volleyball and competed three years in track. For her strong play, she is a three-time All-District award winner, including being named First Team All-District her junior and senior seasons. Bahlinger also was named All-Parish First Team in her final three years and All-Metro (Baton Rouge) First Team her senior year.

She helped her volleyball team to the 2010-11 State Playoffs and her track team to state in 2008-09. Bahlinger has also represented herself well in the classroom, being named Academic All-State her senior year and being awarded her team's Highest GPA Senior Award.

In track, Bahlinger was a First Team All-District and All-Parish selection for three years, a member of the All-Metro team her senior year and was named Academic All-State.

Away from the competition playing surface, Bahlinger was named to her school's President's List and Honor Roll.

Bahlinger was a recent member of the Bayou Bandits Club team out of St. Amant, Louisiana for one year under coach Kui Fletcher. She also participated on the Red Storm Club team for two years and Capital City Club team for one season.

At Centenary, Bahlinger looks to major in chemistry with a minor in Spanish. She has plans on attending Law School following her time at Centenary.

Bahlinger is the daughter of Lewis and DeeDee Bahlinger and has a younger sister, Jessica.
