Ladies Fall in Season Finale, 4-0 at NDSU

FARGO, ND-The Centenary softball team battled a competitive North Dakota State team before falling 4-0 in it season finale and final game as part of The Summit League on Saturday afternoon.  

The Ladies wrapped up the season with a 5-36 overall record and a 2-22 mark in league play under first year head coach Mark Lambert.

Freshman Lynsi Unruh (6.0,9,4,3,1,1) held her own, tossing all 6.0 innings and giving up just three earned runs on nine hits and a walk with one strikeout. The righty concluded her debut season with a 2-10 record.

Centenary was held to just two hits on the afternoon off the bats of freshman Nicole Warren (1x3) and sophomore Kelsey Regan (1x4).

It remained a scoreless game through the first 4.0 innings as Unruh and defense kept NDSU hitters at bay with three hits scattered throughout. The Bison, with two outs in the fifth, plated three runs on four hits. They went up on add an insurance run in the sixth on two hits and one error.

The Ladies bid farewell to senior left fielder Bonnie Matak and senior pitcher Lauren Highsmith. Centenary will compete in NCAA Division III, The American Southwest Conference next season.
