Freshman Duo Named to All-Louisiana Teams

NATCHITOCHES, La.-The freshman baseball duo of RJ Talamantes and Pete Rajkovich once again represented Centenary as All-Louisiana selections. Talamantes was named to the LSWA Second Team, while Rajkovich was an Honorable Mention selection, voted on by the state's sports information directors, announced Saturday evening.

Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) recognizes and honors the state's top baseball players following regular season action.

Talamantes, a third basemen, is joined by 14 other players on the All-Louisiana Second Team.

Rajkovich, an outfielder, represents the Honorable Mention squad, along with 13 other players from across Louisiana.

Both Talamantes and Rajkovich were recently named to Louisville Slugger's Freshmen All-American team and were both named to Summit League post-season teams.

LSU's Mikie Mahtook was named LSWA's Hitter of the Year, while Southeastern Louisiana's Tyler Watkins took home Pitcher of the Year honors. LSU's Raph Rymes and JaCoby Jones earned Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors, respectively.

LSU-Shreveport coach Rocke Musgraves was tabbed Coach of the Year.
