SHREVEPORT—In an effort to promote youth basketball in the Shreveport community, Centenary men’s and women’s basketball took time out of their summer vacations to assist with the United Methodist Church Sport Camp in the Gold Dome this week.

Youth from across the city met at the home of the Ladies and Gents to learn and improve their basketball skills. The camp was assisted and instructed by current Centenary head coaches Kristen Davis and Adam Walsh, as well as current and former players.

The campers of 1st through 4th graders had the opportunity to participate in fundamental games and learn about the game over a two-day period.

“It is always a great opportunity to work with local kids in the community,” said Walsh.

“I’m grateful we we’re able to participate in the UMC Sport Camp.  I think we had just as much fun as the kids did,” said Davis.
