Gymnastics Adds Three to Upcoming Roster

SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and head gymnastics coach Gretchen Goerlitz are pleased to announce the addition of Noel Stubbs (Orange Park, FL), Sylvia Keiter (Gosnell, AR), and Lissa Naylor (Plano, TX) as they each accepted the institution's offer of admission to join the 2011-12 Ladies gymnastics program.

Noel Stubbs
Gymnastics Unlimited
Orange Park, FL

Stubbs, a native of Orange Park, Florida, is a nine-year veteran of Gymnastics Unlimited out of Jacksonville. She was guided by Lisa Beadle and Michelle Aspinwall to National Invitational Qualifying honors. A graduate of Orange Park High School, Stubbs was honored as a Senior Women and National High School honors.

She will major in biology at Centenary and has plans to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon. Stubbs is the daughter of LaShawn and Kevin Stubbs and one sibling, Jourdain.

"We are pleased Noel will be joining us in the fall, she has a very unique look in gymnastics and we are excited to have her become part of the team," said Goerlitz.

Sylvia Keiter
Champions Gymnastics Center
Gosnell, AR

Keiter hails from Gosnell, Ark. and Gosnell High School. She is a 12-year member of Champions Gymnastics Center under Bill Grogan. During that time, Keiter was recognized as a Regional Level 9 and Level 10 Qualifier. In her four years of high school, Keiter was tabbed as the State's All-Around Champion, being named All-State and All-Conference all four years.

Away from the gym, Keiter was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, FBLA, FFA and was a Top 10 graduate and the President of the Spanish Club. She will major in pre-pharmacy and has plans on pursuing a career in pharmacy. Keiter is the daughter of Gary and Dee Keiter and has one brother, Phillip.

"Sylvia is excited to continue to grow as a gymnast and we are looking forward to that excitement on our team," said Goerlitz.

Lissa Naylor
Elite Champion Gymnastics
Plano, TX

Naylor is a native of Plano, TX and is a 10-year member of Elite Champion Gymnastics under Marcus Harlin, Debbie Bonds, and Tammy DeGuzman. Under their direction, Naylor was awarded the Nadia Comaneci Spirit Award, chosen by Nadia at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational for the gymnast that possesses both skill and a positive attitude.

Naylor will major in psychology at Centenary and has plans on pursuing a career in sports psychology. She is the daughter of Linda and Bill Naylor and has three siblings, Blayne, Landy and Brit.

"It will be great to have Lissa joining the team from such a close location," said Goerlitz.

These three join newcomers Natalie Humbert, Leviticus Knighten, and Lauren Cullen for the 2011-12 season.
