SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and head men's golf coach Emlyn Aubrey have announced that Brandon Sledge (Longview, Texas/Pine Tree HS) has accepted the institution's offer of admission and will join the Gents golf team this Fall.

"Brandon is a very promising talent from Longview. He has a great chance to play several tournaments his freshman season with an eye on the professional ranks when he graduates," said Aubrey.

A Longview, Texas native and recent graduate of Pine Tree High School, Sledge is the son of David and Janet Sledge.

Sledge is a four-year letterwinner for the Pirates golf team under the direction of Jody Berryhill. Playing a vital role on his high school team, Sledge helped his team to three District Championships during his four years. Individually, he earned District Champion honors his senior season. Sledge was also a four-year All-District representative and was named MVP twice.

Sledge represented well on the course during Summer play as he was named East Texas Player of the Year in 2008 and was a three-time Top 10 finisher in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).

Expected to graduate with a degree in business, Sledge would like to pursue a career in golf or work for Balfour ring sales.

Sledge will join a team of eight returners who will vie for a Summit League Championship this coming Spring.
