Ladies Softball Releases 2011 Schedule

SHREVEPORT-The 2011 Centenary softball schedule has been officially released on Wednesday according to head coach Mark Lambert.

The Ladies are slated to play a total of 40 games that features two tournaments and 16 non-conference contests.

Centenary will open the 2011 season at the University of North Texas tournament, February 18-20. The Ladies will face Tennessee Tech, Northwestern State, Nebraska, and North Texas in Denton, Texas.

Following that tournament, Centenary will travel to Grambling before heading to Arlington, Texas for the UTA tournament featuring Creighton, UTA, and Tulsa.

After playing the first 12 games on the road, the Ladies will then host Grambling at home on March 15 for the 2011 home opener beginning at 6 pm.

Centenary will host South Dakota State, Southern Utah, UMKC and IPFW in Summit League action and Grambling and Central Arkansas in non-conference play.

All home league contests are scheduled for a Friday evening double-header beginning at 4 pm and one Saturday contest at Noon.

"I'm excited about this upcoming year. We have a great bunch of young women that are working hard and going through the process to become very successful," said Lambert.
