SHREVEPORT-In its 2010 home opener, the Centenary men's soccer team made an impressive showing as they took a 2-1 win over University of the Ozarks in Friday's final exhibition game of the season on Mayo Field.

Gents' senior Ryan Watson found the back of the net at the 41-minute mark off a pass from sophomore teammate Spencer Nickerson to put Centenary up 1-0.

Having played 20 minutes into the second half, junior Marcos Rodriguez rebounded a saved shot off the foot of senior Heath Cox to net the Gents second goal of the game.

Ahead 2-1, Centenary allowed University of the Ozarks to score nearing 30 seconds after when Marcus Aldaba's shot found net.

Centenary outshot the Eagles, 12-10, while each team posted five shots on goal, led by Watson's two.

Senior keeper Rennie Walker was present in goal, saving four attempts, while playing all 90 minutes. Eagles' Neil Thompson made three saves for UO.
