UAPB Shows Strong Offensive Game in Win Over Ladies

SHREVEPORT-On a day that saw little offensive action from the Centenary women's soccer team resulted in an impressive offensive showing for the visiting Lady Lions from Arkansas-Pine Bluff as they took a 7-0 win over the Ladies on Sunday afternoon on Mayo Field.

Centenary fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss and Arkansas-Pine Bluff improved to 2-2.

The Ladies managed to fire off eight shots, four in each half, led by Traci Lee, Candace Rushing and Allie Cortes with two apiece, while Kelly Fossard and Erika Rautio had one.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff had a strong first half with six goals as Nicole Parks-Powell had back-to-back makes. Jade West fired off two goals and contributed with two assists off corner kicks.

Centenary goal keepers Haleigh Coffey and Kalyn Harris combined for seven saves, but Arkansas-Pine Bluff posted 22 shots on the afternoon.

The Ladies will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Louisiana College for a 5 pm contest.
