Sunday, September 12, 2010
NASHVILLE, Tenn.-The Centenary men's soccer team scored in the 81st minute, but a strong early going by Lipscomb sent the Gents home with a 3-1 non-conference loss in the Mafiaoza's Invitational on Sunday afternoon..

The Gents (0-3) received its only scoring opportunity from junior Aaron Bergman, who tallied his first goal of the season on a free kick that was straight on about 30 yards out.

Bergman led the offense with three shots, two of which landed on goal. Senior Dragan Hinic put up two shots, while junior Ben Barcelona had one on goal.

Lipscomb would take the early lead after just seven minutes of play on a goal off a corner kick. They would then use a header shot off a corner kick to go up 2-0 heading into halftime.

The Bison tested the Centenary squad with 21 total shots, while adding their third goal at the 69-minute mark.

Gents' keeper senior Rennie Walker made six saves, while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
