Soccer Drops 1-0 Heartbreaker at HBU

HOUSTON, Texas-A late second-half goal by Houston Baptist dropped the Centenary men's soccer team, 1-0, on Saturday evening in non-conference action.

The Gents (0-4-0) fell in their second one-goal decision this season and are still looking for their first win.

Centenary was held to just six shots on the evening, three of which were on goal by junior Marcos Rodriguez. Senior Zac Farrar posted two shots, one on goal, while junior Aaron Bergman fired off one on goal shot.

Houston Baptist totaled 12 shots, six on goal. The Huskies were able to find the back of the net for the game winner off the foot of Duke Ogega from Lorne Cameron on a free kick at the 72-minute mark.

Centenary senior keeper Rennie Walker played all 90 minutes in goal, making five stops in net, while HBU counterpart Chris Dodd made five saves.

The Gents will open league play at Oral Roberts on Saturday, Sept. 25 in a 7 pm contest.
