PREVIEW: Volleyball Home to Host Two

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary volleyball team returns home to  host Summit League foes, South Dakota State on Friday at 7 pm and North Dakota State on Sunday at 3 pm in the Gold Dome.

The Ladies enter the weekend contests with a record of 3-8 and 0-4 in league play and are looking to snap a six game skid.

Junior Stevie Kaye paces the offense with 108 total kills and averages 2.92 kills per set. She is also second on the team with 14 service aces. Freshman setter Bethany Nuttall contributes on offense with a 150 assists, while junior Caitlin Neese closely follows with 139.

Defensively, Jaclyn Lopez leads the squad with 119 digs and 16 service aces.

As a team, the Ladies average 7.4 kills and 9.7 digs per set.

South Dakota State enters Friday's matchup with a 5-6 overall record and a 1-2 stint among league opponents. The Jackrabbits are led on the attack side by Ellyce Youngren with 143 kills. Thyele Rechatiko paces the team with 392 assists, while Shay Birath, defensively, leads with 187 digs.

North Dakota State will meet Oral Roberts on Friday before traveling to Shreveport. The Bison enter the contest on Friday with a 6-5 overall mark and 3-0 record in the league. Brynn Joki leads all attackers with 113 kills, while Jennifer Lopez adds 358 assists to the offensive mix.

On defense, four players have over 100 digs, led by Andrea Henning with 136.

Following Centenary's matches, the Ladies will host Oral Roberts, Saturday, Oct. 2 at 7 pm in the Gold Dome. All home games can be viewed live online via a web subscription.
