Gents Golf Cuts Strokes, In 10th After Two Rounds

BROKEN ARROW, Okla.-The Centenary men's golf team wrapped up Day 1 of the Bob Hurley Auto ORU Shootout in 10th place with a two-round score of 644 after trimming four shots off their opening round total.

Senior Greg Berthelot (74-78) leads the way in a tie for 22nd with a 36-hole score of 152. Sophomore Jay Frazier recorded a career-low 74 in round two after posting an 86 in round one for a 160.

Also senior Ryan Sparks (81-84, 165) sits in a tie for 52nd, while freshman Brandon Sledge (83-87, 170) is in 56th and senior Cannon Earp (87-84, 171) is in 57th, one stroke back.

As a team, Centenary is 55 shots back from tournament leader, Louisiana-Monroe (302-287, 589), while Sam Houston State (302-290, 592) is in second and Texas State (301-292, 593) rounds out the top three.

The Gents conclude the final round on Tuesday with an 8 am shotgun.
