Centenary Finishes 10th at ORU Shootout

BROKEN ARROW, Okla.-The Centenary men's golf team wrapped up play in the Bob Hurley Auto ORU Shootout on Tuesday posting a three-round total of 964 to finish in 10th place.

The Gents (324-320-320, 964) fired a final team round of 320 to finish 79 strokes behind tournament champion, Texas State (301-292-292, 885).

Leading the way for Centenary was senior Greg Berthelot (74-78-74) who managed to shoot a team-low 74 in the final round to finish in a tie for 22nd overall with a 54-hole score of 226.

Sophomore Jay Frazier (86-74-83) was the Gents second-best performer, tying for 46th place with a total of 243. Senior Ryan Sparks (81-84-81) tied for 51st with a 246, while senior Cannon Earp (87-84-82) tied for 54th with a 253 and freshman Brandon Sledge (83-87-90) rounded out the Centenary squad in 57th place with a 260.

Behind Texas State in the team standings was Sam Houston State (302-290-298, 890) in second and Louisiana-Monroe (302-287-311, 900) in third.

Individually, Gustaf Kocken (67-67-76, 210) of ULM took top honors after concluding with a 10 stroke lead over second-place Stetson McMillan (73-72-72, 217) from Stephen F. Austin.

Centenary will return to the course on Monday, Oct. 11 when it heads to Huntsville, Texas to take part in Sam Houston State's Invitational.
