Ladies Take 12th at ULM Fred Marx Invitational

MONROE, La.-It was a tough final day of the ULM Fred Marx Invitational for the Centenary women's golf team as they fired a tournament-high 349 in the final round to total 1038 over 54 holes, finishing 12th overall.

The Ladies (347-342-349, 1038) added seven strokes to their second round total to wrap up play 112 shots behind tournament champion  Troy University (309-314-303, 926).

Centenary was led by sophomore Kyndal Rose (86-78-82) with a three-round total of 246 for a 41st place-tie. Classmate Justine Kemp (83-84-83) fired a 250 to finish tied for 47th, four shots behind teammate Rose.

Freshman Sarah Bradshaw (87-90-90) totaled 267 for 68th place, while sophomore Rachel Grinnell (91-90-96) finished 69th with a 277. Rounding out the scores for Centenary was freshman Kylee Goldthorn (95-95-94) with a 284 for 70th place.

Behind Troy in the team standings was South Alabama (317-309-306, 932) in second and Sam Houston State (313-307-316, 936) in third.

Signy Arnorsdottir (71-73-75) of Troy captured the individual title with a three-round score of 219. Shelby Hardy (77-75-74) of Sam Houston State would finish second, seven strokes out of the lead with a 226.

Centenary will take part next in Sam Houston State's Invitational on Oct. 11-12 in Huntsville, Texas.
