SHREVEPORT-The Centenary volleyball was swept, 3-0, by Oral Roberts on Saturday evening in Summit League action.

The Ladies (3-11, 0-7 Summit) weren't able to produce any offense advantage, falling 25-21, 25-13, and 25-13 in three straight sets.

Oral Roberts (7-7, 5-2 Summit) used 39 total kills to Centenary's 19 to produce a solid .320 attack percentage as the Ladies combined for a .000 percentage on the evening.

Junior Stevie Kaye fired off a team-best eight kills in 22 total attacks, while junior Jaclyn Lopez added four. Classmate Caitlin Neese contributed with a team-high 13 assists and two service aces.

Junior libero Taylor Gilmour recorded six digs, while Kaye added five on the defensive end.

Centenary played its best ball in the first set when they managed to have a lead more than halfway through.

Leading as late as 18-17, the Ladies looked to be on pace to take set one until Oral Roberts would respond and take over the lead at 20-19 on a kill and a Centenary attacking error. From that point on the Ladies weren't able to regain momentum, falling 25-21 on three strong kills by ORU's Elizabeth McVicker.

Set two saw six errors and just four kills for Centenary. The Ladies held a lead at 7-5, but is was quickly reversed as Oral Roberts combined for six straight points to go up 11-7.

Centenary would narrow the deficit by two at 13-11 on an ORU attacking error, but an 8-2 run followed. The Golden Eagles would go on to take advantage of the Ladies miscues for a set two win.

In the third and final set, Centenary's offense was silenced as it saw itself down 9-1. A kill by junior Kayla Tibaldo would give the Ladies their second point, but the early deficit was too much for Centenary to overcome as ORU gained its final two points on service aces.

Centenary will return to action on Friday, Oct. 8 at Oakland beginning at 6 pm CT.
