PREVIEW: Volleyball Begins Four-Game Road Trip

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary volleyball team returns to action on the road this weekend when it makes its first stop on Friday at 6 pm CT at Oakland followed by a 6 pm CT start time at IPFW on Saturday in Summit League action.

The Ladies enter the weekend at 3-11 and 0-7 against league opponents.

Centenary is coming off a 3-0 loss to Oral Roberts and is looking to snap a nine-game losing skid.

Offensively, the Ladies are led by junior Stevie Kaye with 148 kills on 424 total attacks. She adds 16 service aces for second-best on the team as well. Sophomore Shelby Singleton is second on the squad with 99 k ills, followed by junior Jaclyn Lopez with 81.

Junior setter Caitlin Neese leads the team with 214 assists and freshman Bethany Nuttall is second with 156.

Defensively, Lopez has 147 digs and Kaye has 98.

Oakland is 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in league play. The Golden Grizzlies have five players with over 100 kills, led by Meghan Bray with 181. Setter Ashley Nevelle has compiled an impressive 545 assists, while Brittany Dunn, defensively, has 298 digs.

IPFW will meet Oral Roberts on Friday, but is 9-8 overall and 5-2 in league play prior to that contest. The Mastodons are led offensively by Mayara Schlindwein with 217 kills and Megan Steenhuysen with 626 assists. Tessa McGill leads a strong defensive team with 346 digs.

Centenary will continue on the road for a 7 pm contest on Saturday, Oct. 16 against Oral Roberts.
