Ladies Golf Wraps Up Play in Eighth

HUNTSVILLE, Texas-The Centenary women's golf team wrapped up play at Elkins Lake Golf Club with one final round on Tuesday at the SHSU Harold Funston Golf Classic, totaling 1033 for three rounds, to finish in eighth place overall.

The Ladies (362-329-342) were coming off a solid second round, but managed to add 13 strokes to their second 18 to finish the tournament with a team total of 342 in the final round.

Centenary was led by sophomore Kyndal Rose (87-78-86) who finished 27th overall with a score of 251. Classmate Rachel Grinnell (89-80-88) concluded in 29th place and a score of 257.

Sophomore Justine Kemp (91-83-84) fired one of Centenary's lowest rounds of the day with a final round of 84 to tie for 30th overall, one shot behind teammate Grinnell with a 258.

Freshman Sarah Bradshaw (99-88-84) also produced a team-low 84 to place 36th with a score of 271 over three rounds, while classmate Kylee Goldthorn (95-91-100) finished with a 286 in 39th place.

Sam Houston State (289-298-307, 894) captured the team title, while Redlands (305-315-306, 926) and UT-Pan American (319-319-314, 952) finished second and third, respectively.

Landa Stewart (70-69-78) took top honors with a three-round total of 217, followed by Tyler's Jacki Marshall (72-72-75, 219).

Centenary will continue play this coming weekend at the Rhodes Invitational.
