Women's Basketball Volunteers at FBC Fall Carnival
Tuesday, October 19, 2010
SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team took a few hours out of their busy preseason schedule last week to volunteer at the First Baptist Church Fall Carnival.

Centenary student-athletes assisted with concession stand, sold Halloween items, worked a cake walk and tested their skills at the karaoke booth.

The Ladies have taken part in this event for several years and use this time for team bonding and to meet and greet with the local community.

"We've volunteered at the First Baptist Church Fall Carnival for the past few years.  I think our players have just as much fun working the carnival as the kids participating in it," said Davis.

The entire 2010-11 women's basketball team participated in some aspect of the holiday event, including head coach Kristen Davis.

"It's a team activity that allows us to stay involved in the community, and we very much appreciate First Baptist Church for allowing us to be involved in such a great event."

Also taking part in the event was the Centenary gymnastics team.

Centenary women's basketball will open its season at Sam Houston State on November 17 at Noon in Huntsville, Texas.
