PREVIEW: Swimming to Take Part in Hendrix Invite

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary swimming teams are coming off an impressive showing last Saturday in its home opening meet, but look to continue the success into Friday and Saturday's events as it prepares to take part in the Hendrix Invite.

The Hendrix Invite will begin at 7 pm on Friday evening and will be followed by Relay events on Saturday at 1 pm in Conway, Arkansas.

Centenary captured first and second in every event on the men's side last week against Austin College and Hendrix for two victories, while the Ladies earned victories over those respective schools, but fell by two points to Arkansas-Little Rock.

The Ladies received strong performances from Brittany Wilkens who took top honors in both the 100 yard breast and 200 yard IM. For the Gents, Adam Pennington earned first place in the 200 yard IM and second in the 100 yard free for two top-three finishes.

Last year, Centenary participated in this weekend event, bringing home first place in the Invite and second place in the Relay event.

Following the busy weekend, Centenary will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Georgetown, Texas at Southwestern beginning at 1 pm.
