Tuesday, November 2, 2010

SHREVEPORT-Alumni, fans, friends, coaches, and players of the Centenary baseball team will join forces this weekend to participate in multiple events during Alumni Weekend. The annual Curtis H. Stout Golf Invitational will take place on Friday, followed by an Alumni game on Saturday at 3 pm at Shehee Stadium.

The golf tournament, a four-man scramble, held at Shreveport Country Club, will begin with shotgun start at 11 am.

"Our annual golf invitational is a way for our current players to reconnect with those who have continued to support the program over the years, from former players to members of the community," said head coach Mike Diaz.

Diaz and the Gents expect to have at least 25 teams participating in the annual event, all in support of Centenary baseball.

Former players of this successful program will also make their way back for the Alumni game on Saturday at 3 pm. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team. Admission to the game is free of charge.

"I am excited about the prepared weekend and allowing fans of Centenary baseball preview what is to come for this upcoming season," said Diaz.
