ELMHURST, Ill.-Centenary men's soccer players Heath Cox and RB Asenime were recognized on The Summit League's Second-Team All-League squad voted on by the league's head coaches, announced Thursday evening.

"Both players are well deserved of All-League recognition," said head coach David Orr.

Both Cox and Asenime guided Centenary to an impressive season, who finished one win away from qualifying for the 2010 Summit League tournament. The Gents wrapped up the year with a 2-7-2 record and a 1-3-2 mark against league foes.

Cox, a senior, was named Summit League Player of the Week twice after leading Centenary in offensive statistics, racking up six goals for 12 points. The Lubbock, Texas native had two games where he notched two goals, while finishing the season with two game-winning goals.

"Heath had a great senior year. His size, speed, and determination were his strongest attributes. It's great to see him get recognized with this honor. If one or two more goals went through, he is a first-team selection," said Orr.

While only a junior, Asenime was the driving force behind Centenary's strong defensive game. He helped the Gents limit their opponents to 19 goals on the season in the back. The Irving, Texas native played and started in all 11 contests this year.

"RB is our biggest constant! As our captain and leader, he exemplified a winner. Any coach could build a competitive team around this guy. It's awesome to get him back next year," said Orr.

Centenary's Cox and Asenime join 22 other standouts from around the league named to either first or second team. UMKC's John Bayron Sosa was announced as the Player of the Year, while teammate Brian Quintana claimed Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Other top awards went to IUPUI's freshman Jeff Keyler as the league's Newcomer of the Year and UMKC's head coach Rick Benben as Coach of the Year.
