Hello Everyone.  I hope you all had a great week.  We've had another week of practice, practice and more practice.  However, we were able to have a change of pace on Saturday.  Before practice, we went to Magnolia Manor nursing home to play bingo during the activity period.  We walked in expecting a relaxed game of bingo.  There's no such thing as that at Magnolia Manor.  Everyone wanted a bingo and wanted to win.  Kendra, one of our freshmen, had a false bingo and the residents were quick to call her out.  She made sure to check her bingo card before calling bingo again.  At the end of the game, Anne, Ashley, and Megan were at the winning table.  It was definitely a fun time for us and we're looking forward to returning.

On Tuesday we headed out to Huntsville, TX.  Since Cheddars in Shreveport is always crowded due to it being new, we stopped at the one in Lufkin for lunch to try it.  Jalena requested a color page from the waitress.  That's normally for a much younger age group, but I looked down the table and Vashni, Tandrea, and Sam were coloring too.  I guess you're never too young to color at the dinner table.  After a great lunch, we were back on the road headed to Huntsville.  We didn't have practice at Sam Houston State until 7:00 pm, so we were able to hang out at the hotel for awhile.  We had a good and not so good practice at SHSU and then it was a quick trip to Subway and back to the hotel for homework and rest.

Tip off against SHSU is at 12:00.  I expect a great crowd to be there because Sam Houston is doing their "Pack the House" game.  They invited local schools to come and enjoy the game.  Having the game at noon allows the kids to come to the game and get back to school so they can catch their bus home.  So it should be a great atmosphere for us to open up our season.

Next Wednesday, I'll be able to give you updates on our Sam Houston State, Oklahoma State, and UL-Monroe games.  It's going to be a really busy week for us. Check in next week to see how it all went.

This week's quote, by Henry Ford, is one that our team is very much focusing on achieving.  Hope you enjoy.

"Coming together is a beginning.  Keeping together is progress.  Working together is success."
