Gym Talk: Tara Sandoval

Hey Fans!

It's me Tara, a SENIOR LADY, on the gymnastics team! It's currently Thanksgiving break and I am missing my Ladies beyond belief.  The quote, " You don't know what you have until it's gone" is very true.  It hit me when we hugged and said our goodbyes as a team after Monday morning's practice that these girls are truly my best friends and sisters.  I had mixed emotions the whole drive home to Houston because I was so excited to get home to my family but so sad to leave my "Ladies" family. Let's just say that I definitely am enjoying my time home but I can't wait to get back into the gym and be with my Ladies again. How am I going to handle it when I graduate?!

In case you fan's haven't realized it, we only have roughly six weeks until our first meet; January 8, in the Gold Dome! I can't believe it's already here! Can you? With that said, this past week has been awesome in the gym! The excitement keeps rising as we conquer different assignments, and witness different Ladies step up to the plate and be amazing role models.  That is why I love my team!

I feel it's extremely important for you fans to learn a little bit more about our freshman before you see them compete for the first time!  These girls are truly amazing and I have no doubt the first time you see them compete or even get a chance to talk with them, you will understand what I am saying.  I could go on forever about each "Lady" but I'll try to keep it to a couple sentences:

Ciara: Ciara is new to our team this semester and we are so excited to have her join us as a "Lady"!  I have no doubt she will shine and I'm so excited that you all get to witness her talent!

Christine: Having Christine on our team is a blessing! Due to some setbacks she isn't able to workout right now but I am so thankful for her.  She's extremely helpful in and out of the gym.  There's no doubt that the day she gets the OK to work out again she will be rocking and rolling right beside us!  What would we do without you Christine?!

Cassie: We've all watched this "Lady" grow in the gym.  She works hard and knows how to make us laugh!  She's a great support system in and out of the gym! All she can do is go up from here! Go Cassie!

Robyn: What would do without our southern belle? From day one Robyn has been a standout leader on our team.  She's an all-around "Lady" in and out of the gym.  I'm so thankful for her hard work, love for gymnastics and her team and charisma for everything she does.  She fits right and I know that being a "Lady" is exactly what she was called to do!

Tawnee:  Our little northern "Lady" is like no other.  Her lines are beautiful as well as her skills! She's an amazing person in and out of the gym.  She works hard and fit's just perfectly as a "Lady!"  She's a breath of fresh air in and out of the gym and we are so lucky she picked our team to join!

Overall, I can't wait for you (Fans) to watch our freshmen shine!  They complete our team and you will be able to tell when you see them! They are truly amazing and I am so grateful they have joined us.  Now that they are a "Lady" I don't know what I would do without them! I love them as my sisters and can't wait for you all to see them shine!  Come January 8, you will understand exactly what I am saying!

Also, this past week Gretchen has made us think about what we are thankful for.  We made a video of what we are thankful in our lives. It will be up soon on our Centenary Ladies YouTube site so make sure and check it out! Lastly, I have to remind you that we are selling apparel so don't forget to order it from any gymnast that you know!  I hope to see you wearing it in the Dome January 8! See you then!  Also, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
