PREVIEW: Gents to Play at Arkansas-Monticello, Tuesday
Monday, December 6, 2010
SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's basketball team will travel to Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday. Game time is set for 7 pm CT.

LAST TIME OUT
The Centenary men's basketball team managed to tie the game with 1:20 remaining, but it was Western Illinois who would gain the late advantage, sending the Gents home with a 57-51 loss in Summit League play on Saturday evening.

SWATTING SOPHOMORE
Sophomore Jeron Trotman has used his 6'6" frame to tally 13 swats from the defensive end this year. The forward blocked 18 shots a year ago in limited action, but after having proved to be a key inside force for the Gents, he is on his way to surpassing his debut season. Trotman is just 16 blocks away from cracking the Top 10 All-Time with 47.

ROME SHOWING RANGE AS LEADER
Senior Roman Tubner may not have the highest scoring numbers, but the guard has proved to be the on-court leader with his team-best 26 assists, 10 steals and 30.6 minutes per game. Despite only averaging 8.8 points per game, Tubner is still shooting an impressive 40 percent (19-48) from the floor and 44 percent (7-16) from behind the three-point line.

SHARP-SHOOTING FISH
Freshman Logan Lowery has played the most minutes of any freshman on this young Centenary squad and leads the team in shooting percentage with a sharp 44 percent (26-59) from the field. He has also knocked down six treys and dished off 11 assists.

MAXX MAKING NOISE
Junior Maxx Nakwaasah is coming off a strong week on the court, tallying a team-best 14.0 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per contest. The forward produced his second career double-double at Northwestern State a week ago, pouring in 16 points and pulling down 10 boards. He matched his season-high in points at IUPUI with 19 on a 6-of-12 effort from the floor for his fifth double-digit scoring game this season alone.

IN SEARCH OF FIRST
The Centenary men's basketball team is still in search of its first win of the 2010-11 season as its best two performances came in their last outings. The Gents battled pre-season third ranked, IUPUI, to an eight-point loss (77-69) in Indy, before falling at Western Illinois by just six (57-51). Centenary is currently 0-9 and 0-7 on the road this season.

"ROAD WARRIORS"
The Gents have proven to be road warriors once again as their schedule is set for 19 away contests and just 11 home games. Centenary is nearing the end of its brutal road schedule, with four more games away from the Gold Dome. The road trip began back on Nov. 24 at LSU and will end on Dec. 20 at Wyoming.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO
UAM is a DII member of the Gulf South Conference, located in Monticello, Arkansas. The Boll Weevils enter Tuesday's contest with a 4-2 overall record, having dropped their last contest, 60-40, to Dallas Baptist. UAM is 1-1 on its home court this season.

SERIES HISTORY
Arkansas-Monticello hosts Centenary for the first time in school history on Tuesday. The Boll Weevils and Gents met once already this season when Centenary fell 82-70 to UAM in the Gold Dome. That game marked the first time the two teams have ever met.
