SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and head women's gymnastics coach Gretchen Goerlitz are pleased to announce that Lauren Cullen has accepted the institution's offer of admission and will be joining the Ladies during the 2011-12 season.

"We are excited to begin building our incoming class for Fall 2011!  It will be great to have Lauren join our team with her beautiful style and rhythm," said Goerlitz.

Cullen hails from Norman, Oklahoma and is a 2011 graduate of Norman North HS.

As a Level 10 gymnast, Cullen was a part of Bart Connor Gymnastics Academy in Norman for nine years under the direction of Christian Ivanov. She was awarded the Nadia Commaneci Award during that time.

Cullen participated in the 2010 JO Westerns, earning third place honors on the Floor, fourth place on Beam and 16th in the All-Around competition. She was also recognized as an All-State recipient six years and was named the 2010 State All-Around and Events Champion.

While showcasing her skills in every event throughout her career, Cullen has posted high scores in the All-Around (36.05), Vault (9.475), Bars (8.55), Beam (9.3) and Floor (9.25).

Away from the gym, Cullen was a Mu Alpha Theta Class Representative and her school newspaper's Co-Editor.

She is daughter of Carnie Cullen and plans on pursuing a career in graphic design.

Cullen is Centenary's first 2011-12 addition under Goerlitz.
