PREVIEW: Ladies Host SELU Before Holiday Break

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team will host Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday at 2 pm in the Gold Dome for its final contest before the holiday break.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior Ashley Jackson recorded her eighth career double-double and three other Ladies scored in double figures, however the Centenary women's basketball team faced a season-best performance by UL-Lafayette, falling 90-74, on Sunday in non-conference action.

SHOOTING SHINES FOR SEASON-BEST
Centenary fired off its best shooting performance of the year, scoring 74 points against UL-Lafayette in its last outing. The closest the Ladies have come to that mark this season was against ULM on Nov. 23 in a 61-87 loss at home. Centenary shot 42 percent (25-59) from the field against UL and knocked down nine treys. Four Ladies scored in double-figures as one tallied a career-best. Free throws were consistent at 75 percent (15-20) including a 4-of-4 effort from Ne-Ne Cook and a 6-of-7 effort from Ashley Jackson.

ASHLEY ANCHORS OFFENSE WITH DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Senior Ashley Jackson continues to anchor the offense, notching her eighth career double-double against UL-Lafayette. Off the bench, the forward poured in 12 points and pulled down a career-tying 13 rebounds. The performance was Jackson's fifth double-digit scoring game this season and 43rd of her career.

DANIEL DIALS UP CAREER-HIGH
Junior Megan Daniel has continued to showcase her strength of shooting the long ball when she dialed up for a career-best 14 points against UL, connecting on four treys in seven attempts. Daniel currently is second on the team with 15 three-pointers made for 36 percent. The UL performance was her second four-three point contest this season as the last one came at NSU (11.30).

SIZE MATTERS.
Centenary is currently rostering just nine players as eight are active to play. The Ladies roster Anne Farrell, who is the lone player standing over 6'0". Centenary has faced a tough test all season in the rebounding category, as it is being out rebounded by its opponents' by 12 boards a game.

ABOVE AVERAGE
Centenary has three players averaging in double-figures on the season. Currently, Ne-Ne Cook paces the team with 13.3 ppg after coming out lights out at the beginning of the season. The guard has recorded five double-digit scoring efforts in the first five games, including a season-best performance at Sam Houston State with 18 points on six three-pointers made. Ashley Jackson follows with 11.4 ppg and Anne Farrell is close behind with 10.4 ppg and a team-best 8.8 rebounds per game.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
The Ladies continue their home playing for the next three games as Centenary is scheduled to host Southeastern Louisiana on December 18th for a 2 pm tip-off, Oakland on December 29th starting at 5 pm, and IPFW on December 31st for a 5 pm game time before hitting the road again.

LAST YEAR IN LEAGUE
The Centenary women's basketball team looks to improve its Summit League record of 1-13 from the 2009-10 season. The Ladies only win came against league foe IUPUI in a ten point, 67-57, win in the Gold Dome.
