PREVIEW: Ladies at Home Against IPFW

SHREVEPORT--The Centenary women's basketball team will wrap up the 2010 year when it hosts IPFW on Friday in the Gold Dome. Tip-off set for 5 pm.

LAST TIME OUT
The Centenary women's basketball team was challenged by Oakland, falling 87-58, on Wednesday evening in the Gold Dome. The Ladies fell to 0-9 on the season and 0-3 in Summit League play with the loss and theGolden Grizzlies improved to 9-5 and 3-0 in league action. Following Jackson in the scoring column for Centenary was senior Anne Farrell with 15 points on a 6-of-7 effort from the floor, while junior Megan Daniel added 10.

WELCOME BACK WEILER
After suffering a season-opening injury, senior Sarah Weiler made her debut in Centenary's last outing against Oakland. The center played 18 minutes, scored four points and pulled down three rebounds for the Ladies.

ON BOARD FOR CAREER-BEST
Senior Ashley Jackson recorded a career-best 14 rebounds and produced her second straight double-double with a team-high 16 points against Oakland. That performance marked her 10th career double-double and fourth this season. She surpassed her previous high in rebounds which was 13 three times. Jackson is currently ranked fourth all-time in rebounds with 507 career boards.

ABOVE AVERAGE
Centenary has three players averaging in double-figures on the season. Currently, Ne-Ne Cook paces the team with 12.4 ppg after coming out lights out at the beginning of the season. The guard has recorded six double-digit scoring efforts in the first nine games, including a season-best performance at Sam Houston State with 18 points on six three-pointers made. Anne Farrell and Ashley Jackson each follow with 11.9 ppg and 11.8 ppg, respectively.

BACK AT IT AGAIN
After playing its last two contests against non-league opponents and enjoying a week off for the Christmas holidays, Centenary returns to Summit League play. The Ladies are currently 0-3 after falling to Western Illinois (68-55) and IUPUI (74-46) on the road earlier this month and Oakland (87-58) on Wednesday.

LAST YEAR IN LEAGUE
The Centenary women's basketball team looks to improve its Summit League record of 1-13 from the 2009-10 season. The Ladies only win came against league foe IUPUI in a ten point, 67-57, win in the Gold Dome.

SCOUTING IPFW
IPFW enters Friday's contest with a 7-5 overall record and a 1-2 stint against Summit League opponents. The Mastodons are coming off a loss at Oral Roberts as the Golden Eagles earned a 91-78 win over IPFW.

Stephanie Rosado leads the Mastodons with 17.1 ppg and 8.3 rebounds per game, while Anne Boese adds 13.1 ppg.

SERIES HISTORY
IPFW and Centenary will meet for the ninth time in school history since they first met in 2003. The Mastodons own a 7-1 overall series record over the Ladies and have won the last three outings, including a 68-28 win in their last meeting a year ago in Fort Wayne, Ind.
