Ladies Finish Fourth in Quad Meet at OU

NORMAN, Okla.-Senior Marisa Schneider led the Centenary gymnastics team in every event, though competing against three Top-25 schools landed the Ladies in fourth place with a score of 187.625 behind No. 3 Oklahoma (195.300), No. 6 Oregon State (194.650) and No. 23 Denver (194.300) on Friday evening at the OU Quad Meet.

Centenary opened the meet in rotation 1 on the Beam with a team score of 45.425, its lowest event score of the night. Schneider's 9.575 led the Ladies, while senior Maille Vetros followed with a 9.300.

In the second rotation, Centenary competed in the Floor exercise, finishing with a total of 47.200. As the anchor, Schneider, again was the top scorer for the Ladies with a 9.725, while sophomore Meg Crowley was second-best with a score of 9.550.

The third rotation on Vault proved to be the best effort of the night by the team, scoring a 47.600. Leading the way for Centenary was Schneider and junior Meg Crowley each with a 9.600. Sophomore Christy Martinez was close behind with a 9.525.

Centenary wrapped up the quad meet on the Bars with a team score of 47.300. Schneider earned top honors for the Ladies with a 9.700, followed by junior Stephanie Wright and sophomore Jessica Lieblich with scores of 9.600.

The Ladies were represented in the All-Around by Schneider and Lieblich, as each took part in all four events for Centenary. Schneider earned a 38.600 for fourth place, while Lieblich earned a 36.825.

Centenary will return to action on Saturday, January 29 when it travels to TWU for a 7 pm meet start.
