Saturday, February 19, 2011
SHREVEPORT-Senior Anne Farrell  recorded her second consecutive double-double  with 15 points and a career-high 21 rebounds, however the Centenary women's basketball team could not keep up with the tempo as the Ladies fell to a fast-paced Oral Roberts team, losing 101-66 on Saturday afternoon in conference play.

The Ladies (0-23, 0-16 Summit) weren't able to find an answer throughout the forty minutes as the Golden Eagles would secure three sharp-shooters with 20 points or more.

Centenary opened the scoring column with a three-pointer by junior Megan Daniel at the 19:51 mark, but would not hit another basket until 13 minutes left to play in the half when sophomore Ne-Ne Cook scored her first points of the afternoon with a lay-up.

In between the Ladies scoring slump, the Golden Eagles went on a 21-0 run, taking the lead to 18 points (21-3).

Oral Roberts extended its lead to 20 points in the first half as the Ladies began to trade baskets with the Golden Eagles.  Farrell tallied nine points and 11 rebounds in the first half.

The Ladies finished the half at a 20 point deficit, losing 38-18.

The second half opened with a lay-up by freshman Kat Vidovic for her fourth and fifth points of the afternoon.  Vidovic would continue to remain a threat, scoring 14 total points in the second half alone.

However, Oral Roberts took the lead to 29 points early in the second half, going up 53-24 with 15:30 left to go in the game.

The Golden Eagles continued to run the court, going on multiple short runs.  The Ladies, although trading baskets with Oral Roberts, could not keep up with the fast-paced Golden Eagles.  Oral Roberts would take a 40-point lead at the 4:08 mark before the game would end at 101-66, a 35 point margin.

Along with Farrell's impressive double-double, Cook notched a career-high eight assists on the afternoon, while Vidovic recorded her third consecutive game in double figures with 17 points, leading the Ladies.

Centenary finished 25-of-62 from the floor at 40 percent.  Behind Vidovic in scoring was Farrell with 15, Daniel with 14, and Cook with 11 points.

Oral Roberts was led by Kevi Luper with 25 and Savanna Buck with 24 points.

The Ladies were out rebounded by six (46-40) and recorded 28 turnovers to the Golden Eagles 15.

The Golden Eagles were able to steal the ball 18 times and finish on 12 fast break baskets.
