Gymnastics Rallies in Final Event to Take Second

DENTON, Texas-The Centenary gymnastics team produced its season-best score and rallied in the final event of the night to capture second place at TWU's Tri-Meet with a score of 191.125.

The Ladies finished behind TWU's 194.100 and ahead of Illinois State's 190.425.

Centenary sat in third after three events, but an event-hit 48.600 score on Vault allowed the Ladies to move into second late in the meet.

Senior Marisa Schneider scored a 9.750 on the Beam to tied for first place, while sophomore teammate Jessica Lieblich's 9.575 placed her in a tie for third place.

Lieblich was Centenary's lone All-Around competitor, scoring a 38.550 for third place.

Despite not having any other participants in the Top 3, Centenary did land several gymnasts among the Top 10 in Vault, Bars and Floor.

Sophomore Meg Crowley placed fourth on Vault with a team-best, 9.825. Lieblich took seventh on Bars with a 9.575 for a team-high, while Lieblich, Crowley and junior Melody Smith all tied for sixth on Floor with a 9.750.

Centenary will remain on the road as it travels to Columbia, Missouri to take on Big 12 Mizzou and Temple on Friday, March 4 at 6:30 pm.
