PREVIEW: Ladies Golf to Open Season at USA Lady Jaguar Classic

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's golf team will open its 2011 season at the Lady Jaguar Classic hosted by the Univ. of South Alabama on Monday and Tuesday at Azalea City Golf Club in Mobile, Ala.

The Ladies will compete amongst 12 schools at the two-day tournament, which includes USA, ULM, Troy, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss, UAB, Morehead State, Alabama State, Jackson State, Winthrop and Samford.

Centenary is coming off its best tournament of the fall in a fourth place finish at the Rhodes College Invitational at Tunica National Golf Club in Tunica, Miss.

Sophomore Kyndal Rose has paced the Ladies the entire fall season, earning a Top 10 finish, her first of her career at the Rhodes Invitational, garnering sixth place honors after firing a two-round total of (77-82) 159.

Through 11 rounds, Rose leads the team in stroke average with a team-best 81.36 and tallied a career-best 74 as a low round. Following her in scoring are sophomores Justine Kemp (86.18), Rachel Grinnell (87.18), and freshmen Sarah Bradshaw (89.00) and Kylee Goldthorn (95.18).

Centenary only rosters five players, all of which are sophomores and freshman for head coach Emlyn Aubrey.

Daily results from the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational will be available on following the day's rounds.

Centenary will return to action after this tournament at the Midwestern State Invitational on March 21-22 in Wichita Falls, Texas before taking part in its home event, the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate on March 27-29 at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, La.
