Gents Tennis Wins Another; Ladies Fall to UO

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary tennis teams squared off on Thursday afternoon when future ASC opponent, University of the Ozarks, came to town. The Gents earned a 5-1 victory, while the Ladies fell 4-0 in non-conference action.

The Gents (2-2) had four players win their respective singles matches, as Micah Threadgill won 6-3, 6-1, while Garrett Whipple defeated his opponent, 6-4, 6-0.

Also earning a win in singles play were Evan Magill, 6-0, 6-3, and Michael Reeks, 6-0, 6-1, while Sam Grace was up, but did not finish due to the team already earning the win.

In doubles play, Whipple/Magill teamed up for an 8-2 win, while Grace/Reeks won 8-3.

On the Ladies (0-3) side, Ozarks captured the win early, despite Isadora Bickham's strong effort in the No. 1 spot for Centenary. Her match was unfinished as she fell 7-6 in the first set.

Holden Penney fell 7-5, 6-0 and Holly Clark dropped her singles match, 6-1, 6-0.

Bickham/Penney challenged in doubles play, but were edged, 8-6, while Michelle Gaubert/Clark fell 8-3.

Centenary will be back in action on Friday at UT-Tyler with a 3 pm start.
