Jackson Named to Honorable Mention All-League Team

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-Centenary's Ashley Jackson has been tabbed as a Summit League Honorable Mention All-League honoree, voted on by the league's head coaches, sports information directors and media, announced Thursday afternoon.

Jackson led the Ladies in scoring with 12.4 ppg and a team-best 13.6 ppg in league play alone, without attempting a three-point field goal all season. The forward also paced Centenary by pulling down 7.7 rebounds per game against conference opponents.

The senior played in all 25 games this season and started all 18 league contests. She finished the season with 18 double-figure scoring games and seven double-doubles, including a stretch of three straight games. She also led the squad with 26 blocks and was second-best on the team with a .417 field goal percentage (95-228).

Jackson was Centenary's leading scorer in six games and leading rebounder in 11. Her career-best scoring game came on Dec. 31, 2010 against IPFW where she tallied 25 points on a 7-of-14 effort from the floor and hit 11-of-13 from the free throw line. She also notched a career-best 15 rebounds on Feb. 14, 2011 at Southern Utah.

The highlight of the season for Jackson came on Jan. 15, 2011 when her 16 points scored against Southern Utah placed her amongst elite company in the Centenary Women's Basketball 1,000-Point Club.

Jackson finished her four-year career with 1,133 career points, placing her second all-time in the record books.

Jackson joins four other league players on the Honorable Mention team and was Centenary's only representative as the Ladies bid farewell to The Summit League.

"This is another great accomplish and honor for Ashley and our women's basketball program. Ashley has worked so hard for our program and it is great to see other coaches and media recognize that as well," said first year head coach Kristen Davis.

Oral Roberts' Kevi Luper was named the league's Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while teammate Savannah Buck was named Sixth Woman of the Year. Sadie Webb of Western Illinois was tabbed as the league's Newcomer of the Year, while ORU head coach Jerry Finkbeiner was named Coach of the Year.
