Senior Soccer Duo to Blog All Season Long

SHREVEPORT-With the 2011 soccer season nearly approaching, Centenary seniors Candace Rushing and Tate McIntyre prepare to provide fans with a personal look into Centenary Ladies and Gents soccer by blogging weekly, beginning next week.

Rushing, a senior forward out of Memphis, Tennessee, begins her fifth year at Centenary after redshirting her junior season. No. 17 started all 18 contests last year and was second-best on the team with seven total points, including two goals and three assists.

An elementary education major, Rushing has plans on becoming a college soccer coach and one day an elementary school principal following graduation. She is a three-time Academic All-League and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence performer and blogged all last season for the Ladies.

McIntyre, a senior midfielder from Mansfield, Texas, begins his fourth year in a Gents uniform. No. 10 appeared in all 11 games a year ago and finished with a team-best three assists and notched one goal.

McIntyre is a two-time Academic All-League performer and blogged all last season as well for the Gents.

Centenary officially kicks off its season at home against Texas College on Thursday, Sept. 1 on Mayo Field. The Ladies open the double-header at 5 pm, followed by the Gents at 7 pm.
