Ladies Edge Millsaps with 1-0 Win

JACKSON, Miss.-The Centenary women's soccer team edged Millsaps with a 1-0 win on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action after holding the Majors to just four total shots.

The Ladies improved to 2-0 on the season as junior Holden Penney scored in her second straight game.

Penney's goal came at the 47-minute mark on an unassisted shot in the second half to propel the Ladies to victory. The forward posted her second goal of the season to pace Centenary in scoring.

Centenary out shot Millsaps, 10-4. Junior Traci Lee made four shots, while Penney had three on the afternoon.

Freshman Brittaney Dunn completed her second game playing all 90 minutes in goal. The newcomer made one save.

Centenary will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 7 when it hosts in-state rival, ULM, at 7 pm on Mayo Field.
