Gents Finish in Eighth at Derrall Foreman Invitational

CLEVELAND, Miss.-The Centenary men's golf team wrapped up its fall debut at Delta State's Derrall Foreman Invitational in eighth place with a two-round team total of 607 on Saturday afternoon. .

The Gents added one stroke to their opening round to shoot 304 in round two. Centenary finished 31 shots over par and 30 shots behind tournament winner, Delta State.

Freshman Zander Winston (71-74) concluded his collegiate debut with his first Top 10 finish in a tie for sixth place with a one-over 145 after firing a second round 74 and an opening round of 71.

Trimming his score by three shots with a second round 74 was freshman Jamie Gibson (77-74) to finish in a tie for 25th with a 151. Following Gibson in scoring for the Gents was freshman Hank Strickler (78-77) with a 36-hole total of 155 after firing a 77 in today's round.

Also scoring for Centenary was freshman Matt Delaney (77-79), one shot back with a 156 and a 79 for his second round score. Junior Jay Frazier (81-79) also trimmed shots off his score for a 160 on the tournament and a 79 in his final round.

Delta State captured the team title with a 577, one shot ahead of second-place North Alabama. Lindenwood University took third with a 586, 10 shots out of the lead.
