Volleyball Suffers Five-Set Loss at ETBU

MARSHALL, Texas-The Centenary volleyball team played ASC foe ETBU to five sets, but would suffer the loss on Tuesday evening, 3-2 in conference play.

The Ladies fell to 5-3 overall and 1-2 in ASC action with the mid-week loss.

Centenary opened the match, falling in set one 25-16. The Ladies managed to bounce back with an edging 26-24 victory in set two, but would again allow the Tigers to gain an advantage with a 25-15 loss in set three. Centenary kept the match going with a 25-22 set four win, but would fall 15-7 in the final set.

Senior Jaclyn Lopez and freshman Brooke Bahlinger each produced double-doubles to lead Centenary's offensive and defensive attack. Lopez tallied 13 kills and 22 digs, while Bahlinger made 13 kills and 15 digs.

Junior Shelby Singleton and freshman Sarah Sumner also each tallied double-digit kills with 11 and 10, respectively. Senior Caitlin Neese contributed with 35 assists and 12 digs for a third Ladies' double-double.

Junior Jesi Wilcox, defensively made 18 digs, while senior Taylor Gilmour added 13.

Centenary was out hit .225 to .196 after committing a season-high 29 errors.
