SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's golf team will embark on its 2011 fall season when it takes part in the Fred Marx Invitational hosted by ULM on Monday and Tuesday at Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe, La.

The Ladies will play 36 holes on Monday, beginning at 8:45 am shotgun start. The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday at 8:45 am. The event is free and open to the public.

Centenary will join 10 schools from across the southern region on the par 72, 5,923 yard course. The Ladies will compete against ULM, Jackson State, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Houston Baptist, Troy, Western Kentucky, Northeastern State, SFA, and McLennan CC.

Aubrey has finalized his opening lineup for the Ladies debut tournament. Juniors Rachel Grinnell, Kyndal Rose, Justine Kemp, and sophomores Sarah Bradshaw and Kylee Goldthorn will compete for the Ladies.

"Each one has been close to breaking through with some consistent rounds in the 70's so now is the time to move to that level," said Aubrey. "They have worked pretty hard the past two weeks so it is up to them to take it to the competition. I look for each one of them to get into a good scoring frame of mind and be comfortable doing it."

Kyndal returns as the top scorer for Centenary a year ago with an 81.8 stroke average. The Grapevine, Texas native played in all nine events and fired a career-low 74 in last year's season opener.

Kemp hails from Colorado Springs, Colo. and finished second-best with an 85.5 stroke average last year. Grinnell, a native of Plano, Texas, fired an 86.2 stroke average for third-best.

Bradshaw, a Longview, Texas native, averaged 88.4 strokes, while Goldthorn, a Colleyville, Texas native, fired a 95.4 stroke average.

Centenary will compete in the UT-Tyler Invitational on Oct. 3-4 in Tyler, Texas at The Cascades CC.
