Gents Golf Drops Dual Match to LSU

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's golf team faced off against LSU on Sunday in a one-round dual match, falling 418-357 to the Tigers at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport.

The Gents totaled 418 in one round, playing a 6-count-5 stroke play format with one individual.

Centenary was led by freshman Zander Winston for the second tournament in a row as he fired a team-best 78 to finish ninth overall.

Freshman Jamie Gibson was second-best with an 83 for 11th place, followed by freshman Hank Strickler's 85 to finish 12th. Freshman Andres Forese and junior Jay Frazier each tied for13th after shooting an 86.

Playing as an individual for Centenary was freshman Arni Sigurdsson in 15th place with an 88, followed by freshman Matt Delaney in 16th with a 96.

LSU's Andrew Presley and Curtis Thompson each tied for first with a 68.

Centenary will return to action on Oct. 3-4 at the UT-Tyler Invitational in Tyler, Texas at The Cascades.
